Tuscany regional dinner

February 19, 2018

We're off to Central Italy and Tuscany next week for February's regional dinner on Tuesday 27th.

Tuscan cuisine, firmly rooted in simplicity and quality of the ingredients is a favourite of Stevie's we've put together the below menu for the night. We start off with three toasts, each topped with something tasty, artichoke should be good. Next up there's a choice of Rabbit ragu, Pici pasta al pomodoro or Ribolita - a typical peasant stew made with cavalo nero and lashings of the local olive oil.

For the main event there's a great dish of fagioli beans stewed with pork sausge, a tomato and fish stew Cacciuccio that's served with bread and olive oil and Sformata, a plate of baked ricotta that's flavoured with nutmeg. For desserts there's a wicked choclate cake, Cantucci (the Tuscan answer to biscotti) and Pecorino cheese with Tuscan flatbreads.

Tuscany is the third largest producer of wine in Italy and we'll be sure to have some nice varieties of Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano on the list for the night too. Plus a superb Vin Santo wine to pair with the dessert.

As always the dinner will be £28 per person to and includes all anti-pasti and desserts to share across your table.
